Historical Significance: Reginald Ernest Trist who name appears on this item was registered as an optometrist in 1936. (See Cat 888 for list of first registered optometrists). He is recorded as having a Fellowship of the Victorian Optical Association, so these notes are almost certainly ones provided to him when he was studying that course. His address at the time of his registration was 20 Grange Road West Preston. The style of the notes suggests they were prepared by H S Latimer. Some of the illustrations are the same in other copies of his notes (see Cat No 278 and 617)
