Description Of Item: Black vinyl quarto size two ring binder containing cut and pasted typewritten notes heavily annotated preceded by a number of illustrations clipped from magazines and pasted on quarto pages. Also included are 6 quarto stapled pages of typescipt headed 'The history of spectacles'. Later sticker on front cover 'Cyril Kett's history of optometry lecture notes (plus illustrations)'
Historical Significance: Cyril Kett FBOA Higher Diploma FSMC (c1885 - 1971) was one of the five people who signed the VCO Articles of Association in 1939. He was a councillor of the VCO from 1939 to 1970 and first Vice President 1944 to 1947. He was made an honorary life member of the College in 1954. He was a lecturer in the history of optometry in the Australan College of Optometry in the 1940s and 1950s.
