Historical Significance: Professor Anthony (Tony) Adams graduated in optometry at the University of Melbourne (BAppSc Hons) and the Victorian College of Optometry (LOSc) in 1962, in a small class of students remarkable for their later acheivements. Three of the six students became international academic leaders (Adams, Bailey, Mitchell). Adams did his PhD degree at Indiana University and was recruited to the academic staff of the School of Optometry at the University of California at Berkeley in 1968. There he became professor (1980) and Dean of the School (1992-2001). These four pages form a poster that details his life and career. It was prepared for display at the celebration of his retirement and 70th birthday at the University of California on Wednesday November 17 2010. See Profile: Anthony J.
