Description Of Item: Single fold card, 83 x 136 mm when folded, buff colour, being the order of ceremony for the presentation of diplomas of the Australian College of Optometry on April 12 1944. The speakers were C W Kett FBOA, FSMC, FVOA, Chairman of the College Council; Bertram Nathan FSMC, FIO , Chairman of the Opticians Registration Board, The diplomas were presented by Professor Arthur Amies DDSc FRACS FRSE who also addressed the meeting.
Historical Significance: The Australian College of Optometry was founded in 1940 and enrolled students in 1941 three of whom completed the course in 1944 and received their LOSc diplomas in 1945. The diplomates were Douglas G Allen, Anthony P Douglas and John Nathan.
