Description Of Item: Gold filled spectacle frame with curl sides, pantoscopic (fulvue) eye shape, black plastic (Bakelite?) covered rims, adjustable nose pads, curl sides, illegible stamping underneath of bridge, possibly 10/10. Unglazed. Original paper tag reading ' ABBEY HIGH JOINT FRAME MANUFACTURED BY WALTER JAMESON LTD ABBEY WORKS LTD CHELMSFORD ENGLAND'. 115 x 43 mm
Historical Significance: This is an excellent example of a style of frame that was popular from the 1920s to the 1950s: this one is of the highest quality, being gold-cased..............
