Description Of Item: This publication was published as a supplement to Jena Review 1975. Paper wrappers, centre fold stapled, A4 size, 20 numbered pages, colour printed throughout, 19 high quality colour figures plus an illustration on front cover. Also held under this catalogue number are (1) a 5 fold DL size leaflet for the Optiches Museum der Carl-Ziess-Stiftung zu Jena, in German, 7 colour illustrations and a map showing the location of the museum, (2) an article on 'Spectacles' by Frank Rossi published by the Optical Museum Carl Zeiss Foundation of Jena 1985 (?) 6 pp, (3) an article on 'Carl Zeiss-Ernest Abbe-Otto Schott' by Frank Rossi published by the Optical Museum Carl Zeiss Foundation of Jena 1985(?) 12 pp, and (4) a single A4 sheet torn from a publication, on one side the words 'Zeiss Information vol 30 No 101 1990 ' and a colour illustration of a microscope and on the other a picure of a bronze head of Ernst Abbe and a short text commemorating his 150th birthday (b 23 Jan 1840)

The well known names of Ernst Abbe, Carl Zeiss and Otto Schott, are featured. The collection is very large and occupies three floors. It covers, History of glasses, Historical development of microscopy, Telescopes and their masters, History of photography and Ophthalmological instruments.
