Description Of Item: Light green cloth covers, 147 mm x 225 mm, 283 pages, 22 black and white plates, 2 colour plates (Plate 1 partly obscured by protective leaf in image). Torn newspaper bookmark from the Adelaide News at page 83 has caused some foxing beneath it. Some separation at Title Page.
Historical Significance: Sir William Henry Bragg (1862-1942) was a British X-ray crystallographer who uniquely shared a Nobel Prize with his son Lawrence Bragg (1890-1971) an Australian born in Adelaide. The 1915 Nobel Prize in Physics "for their services in the analysis of crystal structure by means of X-rays". This book covers all aspects of light and includes a chapter regarding X rays.
