Description Of Item: Unglazed scissors spectacles. Hinged pair of round lens rims which pivot out of holder in the manner of scissors spectacles of 1750 - 1800. Although originally catalogued as leather, they appear to be made of wood and of much later manufacture. Size closed 135 x 50 mm.
Historical Significance: Described in the Abel collection as 'Lederbrille um 1680 China'
