Description Of Item: Booklet, cream textured card cover, 20 pages, 6 black and white photographs including one of Mr Bier's consulting room, addendum dated May 1956 inside back cover about corneal contact lenses, which the author states he has been using since 1949.
Historical Significance: Norman Bier was a leading proponent of contact lenses and one of the pioneers of the introduction of contact lenses to optometric practice in the 1950s and 1960s. His book first published in 1953 (See Cat No 494) is one of the earliest books on contact lenses, This booklet seems intended to provide information for prospective patients interested in contact lenses, written as a form of professional self-promotion
