Red with decorative pearl and grey engraving, keyhole bridge, unglazed. MARTIN WELLS stamped on R temple is the only marking. Overall size is 125 x 40 mm, frame size 42 x 18. Historical Significance: Established in 1954, Martin Wells was an Australian spectacle frame manufacturere founded by businessman Sidney Sinclair, optometrist Eric Hurst and Dino Zingarelli, a spectacle frame designer. Martin Wells produced a range of spectacles frames in the 1950s that were highly popular, ushering a new fashion era into spectacles in Australia.
