Historical Significance: Rosner (1924-2014) was an academic optometrist with a special interest in children's vision. This book was very influential setting mid ground between the views of behavioural optometrists and those with more conservative views on the management of children's eye conditions. He worked at the Learning Research and Development Center at the University of Pittsburgh and later taught and researched in the College of Optometry at the University of Houston. He also wrote 'Helping children overcome learning difficulties' 1993, a book highly praised by educators and parents, and was coauthor of 'Vision Therapy in a Primary Care Practice.'
