Historical Significance: John Griffin (1934-2014) was an optometrist, researcher and author whose work in demonstrating the benefits of vision therapy for binocular vision anomalies, including strabismus and amblyopia, was well researched, referenced and scientifically valid. This book was considered seminal in helping to bring the field of vision therapy into the mainstream of health care. He co-authored a number of editions of this book with varying titles, as well as other works, and contributed to an understanding of genetics in dyslexia.
