Description Of Item: Single octavo sheet (125 mm x 203 mm) of Victorian Optical Association letterhead dated 11th September 1951 addressed to Bertram Nathan advising him of his election as an Honorary Life Member and an invitation to receive the award at the VOA Annual Dinner. Signed by Francis R Slade, Honorary Secretary, Victorian Optical Association.
Historical Significance: HH Baker FSMC is credited with founding the Victorian Optical Association on the 23rd of May 1911. Bert Nathan was an active member of the VOA progressing the profession to registration and into university based education. See People Who Made History tab for further information
