Description Of Item: Black crackle finish, hand held aperture rule trainer, 215 mm long, 105 mm at widest and 230 mm high including handle, adjustable for pupillary distances 50-70 mm via chromed knurled knob on right side. Eyepiece has lenses, +4.50 D, 6 prism dioptres base out each eye to enable working distances 18 to 25 cm using adjustable slide with chromed handle. Slide designed for cards 55 mm x 175 mm.
Historical Significance: Aperture rule trainers provide progressive fixed demand to help improve low fusional and accommodative reserves, poor stereopsis, fixation disparity suppression and a tight accommodation-convergence relationship without the use of polarised or coloured lenses.
