Right temple marked Martin Wells Monza, 140 (= temple length), back of rim marked 50/22 (= frame size) left temple marked FRAME AUSTRALIA. Mounted on original manufacturer's card with frame details. Overall size of card 152 x 65 mm.
Historical Significance: Established in 1954, Martin Wells was an Australian spectacle frame manufacturer founded by businessman Sidney Sinclair, optometrist Eric Hurst and Dino Zingarelli, a spectacle frame designer. Martin Wells produced a range of spectacles frames in the 1950s that were highly popular, ushering a new fashion era into spectacles in Australia.
