Description Of Item: Brewster-type stereoscope in grey lightweight and durable ABS plastic. Folds down to compact size, 215 x 270 x 165 mm. Adjustable support with black tightening knob, removeable stand for holding training cards. Scale along instrument shows placement position of training cards and also dioptres. Eye pieces have +5D spheroprism lenses, moveable occluders and wells for trial lenses. 'BERNELL-O-SCOPE, BERNELL CORP., SOUTH BEND, IN' next to scale. Used for binocular vision assessment and in-office or home therapy. See Cat. # 4239 for accompanying training card booklets.
Historical Significance: Bernard Vodnoy and his wife established the Bernell Corporation to produce a series of low cost binocular vision testing and vision training equipment that could be used in-office or for home based vision therapy.
