Brass mounts for finger-pieces, one mounted to the base and the second to the sliding scale. Two brass screws holding the mounts in each. 6 brass screws holding two boxwood planks together from the back. Sample finger-piece bridge included. Printed instructions with instrument photograph included. 'SYZE RULE / FIT U/FITTING/ORDINARY/P.Ds. / FITS U/FITTINGS/NARROW/P.Ds.' included on one side of front face, as well as mm scales. 'SIZE OF EYE / SHAPE OF LENS / ORDINARY OVAL / SHORT OVAL/AND PANTOSCOPIC / ACTUAL LENGTH/OF LENS IN M/M' included on other side of front face, as well as mm scales. '50' is stamped on both the back face of the sliding scale, and front face of base sliding scale channel. Historical Significance: Used for measuring Rimless Pince-Nez bridges & assessing lens sizes.
