The museum also has the 3rd, 6th, 7th and 9th editions.Later editions were titled with the word 'Ophthalmic' in place of 'Optical'. The author was a professor of optometry at the Northern Illinois College of Ophthalmology and Otology. This handbook was a useful dictionary and encyclopaedia for ophthalmic practitioners and gives a scope of the professions at that time.
