Worth founded the orthoptic clinic at Moorfields Eye Hospital and invented the amblyoscope (synoptophore). Francis Bernard Chavasse (1888-1941) wrote the 7th edition (1939) of Worth's book, which became 'Worth and Chavasse's Squint: the binocular reflexes and the treatment of strabismus' in later editions.
