Description Of Item: Green cloth with darker green spine imprinted ' SCRAP BOOK' in gold with gold embellishments, 225 mm x 295 mm x 45 mm. Approx. 200 pages. First thirty-two pages contain political clippings of subjects of interest to Waterworth, pages 33 to 36 refer to the Opticians Bill of 1913. Seven small illustrations are interspersed over the next fifty pages with further political clippings on the last page. A folded page of 'The Australian' of 19th October 1965 about Mawson's Antarctic Expedition is inside the front cover.
Historical Significance: Newham Waterworth was instrumental in the legislation to register optometrists in Tasmania, the first Australian to achieve this.
