Description Of Item: Stapled colour illustrated textured double folded light card wrappers, approx. A4 size. Brand promotional booklet, 30 pp. Introduction by Herbert Eisenhart, President, B & L Inc. 1935-1950. 13 full page colour illustrations of significant figures in the history of optics and ophthalmic science, as well as one of Chinese scholars wearing glasses c. 1275 A.D., one of street vendors and one of a microscope. Opposite each picture is a page of informative text. The significant figures depicted are Alhazen, Gallileo, Snell., Huygens, van Leeuwenhoek, Newton, Franklin, Young, Fraunhofer and Helmholtz. Historical Significance: Cyril Henry Woodford Kett (1890 - 1971) FBOA Higher Diploma FSMC was one of the five people who signed the Articles of Association of the Australian College of Optometry in 1939. He was a councillor of the College from 1940 to 1970 and first Vice President 1944 to 1947. He was made an honorary life member of the College in 1954. The Kett Optometry museum is named in his honour as the donations of his collection was the foundation of this museum.
