Historical Significance: The pamphlet was prepared by The Standing Medical Advisory Committee for the Central Health Services Council and the Minister of Health in September 1962. It contains sections covering Incidence of Blindness and possible causes in Infants, Children and Adults, listing possible causes: Strabismus, Cataract, Glaucoma, Senile Macula Degeneration, Myopia, Diabetes, Trauma Rubella and Hypertension. It recommends the registration and rehabilitation of blind and vision impaired persons. The responsibility of various tiers of government for support in the 1960's is covered.
