Description Of Item: A.I.M. Streak Retinoscope, cased with spare globe and instruction sheet. Self-illuminating instrument in grey and black metal with battery handle. Five vertical fixation charts. Fitted black leather-covered wooden case with hinged lid and yellow metal clasp, lined with black silk and purple velvet. Folded instruction sheet, printed in black, white and jade green, illustrated with product photograph and includes 'List No 25/651'. Price written in pencil 'twenty-two pounds five shillings'. Case: 295 x 50 x 60 mm. Instrument: 250 x 40 x 40 mm.
Historical Significance: This is an early example of a streak retinoscope from the UK.
