Description Of Item: Hinged box 75 mm x75 mm x 50 mm covered in blue textured fabric imprinted with 'Stoisa, Firenze, Italia' in silver on the top surface and with a silver coloured clasp. The box is lined with blue fabric and a black velveteen covered insert with four slots holds four Bagolini striated lenses in tagged metal mounts. Two tags are stamped '4' and two '2'.
Historical Significance: Bagolini striated lenses were invented by Bruno Bagolini (1924-2010) who graduated in Medicine in Bologna in 1949. He developed the striated lenses for assessment of the depth of binocular vision anomalies. More detailed information about Bruno Bagolini may be found in an obituary by Emilio C.
