Description Of Item: Timber trial lens case, hinged lid fitted with bevelled glass. Removable lens rack retains nearly full complement of lenses: spheres to +/-16.00DS, cyls to +/-7.00DC, prisms to 12 prism dioptres and assorted auxilliary lenses including a bulky Maddox Rod. No trial frame. Walnut lens rack and case lined with dark green velvet. Individual lenses have colour-coded labels: minus spheres cream, plus spheres red, minus cyls lilac, minus cyls olive green. Case labelled 'F. DAVIDSON & Co, MANUFACTURING OPTICIANS/ 29, GRT PORTLAND ST. LONDON'. Brass shield-shaped escutcheon around keyhole, but no key. Catches corroded and insecure
