Description Of Item: Greens' Refractor Cat Nos 71-48-70 71-48-71 Reference Manual. 24 pages, black & white photographs. The title page includes a triangular company logo enclosing overlapping 'B&L'. Rear card cover includes '714870-327ND, 1M, 111-64'. Page 5 lists available enamel in 'colors of Jade Green, Coral, Cream White, Biscayne Blue and Satin Black'. Accompanied by 3 reading cards for use with the refractor: 2 by B&L & labelled '713589-101, 1000, VIII-64' and '713590-101, 2000, VIII-64'. Dimensions 220 x 146 mm.
Historical Significance: The Greens' Refractor was designed by A S Green MD, L D Green MD & M I Green MD and was granted a patent in1932. The Greens' Refractor was very popular for many decades. Production stopped in the late 1970s, although many Greens' Refractors remained in use into the 21st century.
