Historical Significance: The U.S.-Australian Symposium on Vision had 70 participants, 22 from the USA 45 from Australia 2 from New Zealand and one from the UK. Leading neurophysiologists of the time: D Hubel and T Wiesel of Harvard University, W Rushton of Florida State University, Australians P Bishop, J Pettigrew, G Henry and G Westheimer presented papers. B Cole, I Bailey and A Johnston from the VCO were registrants.
