Description Of Item: Black flexible bowls diameter 84 mm height 51 mm made of plastic or synthetic rubber with ASH ENGLAND embossed under the base. Temporary storage Box A
Historical Significance: These bowls were part of the equipment used to make moulds of the anterior eye for the manufacture of scleral contact lenses. Dental moulding material was mixed in the bowl prior to applying it to the anaesthetised eye. The flexibility and material of the bowl made it easier to clean after any of the mould material set.
