Description Of Item: Small card covered leaflet of 7 pages. Green covers printed in black, coloured images for testing colour vision on pages 3 and 5. The top of page 7 reads 'This test, price $1.00, is a short form of the book 'A New Test For Color Blindness' by the same author, price now $4.00, published in 1941 by the College Book Company, Columbus 1, Ohio.' Size: 180 x 117 mm.
Historical Significance: US Patent No 2,328,700 (Application date March 12, 1941, Patent date Sept 7, 1943) was issued to Percy B Wiltberger as a 'Means for the detection of color blindness'. It is based on detecting differing after-images seen by individuals with normal and defective colour vision. The technique was not widely adopted.
