Description Of Item: Brown leatherette covered snap case 159 mm x 82 mm x 18 mm containing nine PMMA contact lens cosmetic tint samples 12 mm in diameter in a white Perspex base with colour descriptions imprinted in black. Two round black cloth pads and a slot for a lens suction holder are in the lower part of the base. Samples are numbered from 1 to 9 with colour descriptions 'Verde, Avocado, Leaf, Mauve, Hazel, Dawn, Regal, Siamese, and Dusk in numerical order. Lid of case lined in padded white sateen.
Historical Significance: A range of cosmetic PMMA lenses developed by Merton Flom recognised for his research on the oxygen requirements of the cornea. Used by Bruce Workman as a starting point guide for tinting.
