Description Of Item: Hinged plastic box 163 mm x 140 mm x 50 mm with black bottom and translucent top labelled 'KBA Keratoconus Trial Set' containing 18 keratoconus trial lenses of overall diameter 10.20 mm, eccentricity 0.98 and base curves 5.80 mm to 7.50 mm in 0.10 mm steps inside a white cardboard sleeve with label imprinted 'Ultravision International Capricornia' on the face and label imprinted "KBA '0.98/9.75' on one side. Lens powers range from -9.50 to -10.00.
Historical Significance: The design of the KBA keratoconus contact lens by Don Noack and John Mountford in the late 1990s was aided by the development of CNC lathes which provided flexibility in the back surface curves.
