Description Of Item: Paddle shaped cardboard device in shades of green with a central rotatable central section with a stylised iris imprinted with 5 degree divisions 0 to 180 and 'Monthly disposable contact lens for Astigmatism 'in black and 'Actitoric' in blue. 5 degree divisions are imprinted in red 0 to 180 outside the circumference of rotatable section with 5 degree 30 to 0 to 30 in black centred on the 6 o'clock position. Instructions for use and 'Hydron Toric Experts' are imprinted on the lower part of the paddle. The reverse lists details of Actitoric Lenses, the address of Hydron Australia and the internet address of Hydron UK.
Historical Significance: Markings on Actitoric contact lenses are at 90 degrees to the lens axis (at the 6 o'clock position). As lenses may settle clockwise or anticlockwise form that position, allowance for the rotation must be made when specifying the required lens. This device makes the calculation simpler.
