Description Of Item: Subjective optometer, cream enamel finish with black plastic and chromed metal fittings. Graduated scale on top of instrument labelled 'PRESBYOPIA'. Labels on indicator which travels along this scale marked 'PUNCTUM REMOTUM' with an arrow pointing right, and 'PUNCTUM PROXIMUM' with an arrow pointing left. Attached plaque, mostly in Japanese, includes 'MFG No 18486 STYLE No E1 U.S. PATENT No 3067647'. Some of the Japanese characters translate as '(Sanyoh) Three Seas Optical Industry Corporation'. The U.S. Patent No 3067647 was granted on Dec 11, 1962 to Kichiro Sato of Okayama City, Japan, having been filed onOct 28, 1958. Dimensions: H: 460mm x W: 245mm x D:500mm.
