The patent number on the back of the bridge refers to a patent issued in the UK on 22 October 1928, taken out by someone called McLeod. The patent was is for a joint designed to raise the temples (sides) above the line of vision and to allow the frame to be tilted.Snap case lined with purple velvet. Front of case embossed in gold 'H & C/ STILES/ OPTICIANS/ BENDIGO'. Specs 114 x 55 mm, case 125 x 55 x 16 mm.
