The lower edge has a 110 degree cut-out 8 mm deep midway along it. Various graduations printed in millimetres allow measurement of pupillary distance, monocular pupillary distance and pupil in a spectacle frame. The words Opticare Pty Ltd, Technology in Focus in blue appear on one face and NASA Optical Multicoat Specialists on the other. Historical Significance: A dispensing rule designed to enable accurate fitting of lenses to a patient's frame. PD rules of the same basic construction are found in Cat.
