Historical Significance: This book was an early book on low vision care and was very influential. Another early and influential book on the subject was Norman Bier Sub-normal vision 1960 See Cat no. 0474.Eleanor E. Faye MD was medical director of the Lighthouse Low Vision Service, New York Association for the Blind, and was also attending surgeon at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, New York.There are 17 contributing authors to the book who are listed on pages ix and x. One is an optometrist Robert Rosenberg OD of the College of Optometry State University of New York.
