Description Of Item: Flat white flexible plastic rule 159 mm x 30 mm with scale in centimetres with millimetre graduations, divisions 9.0 mm to 12.5 mm in 0.5 mm steps, the words Visible Iris Diameter, and Soflens (Polymacon) Contact Lens printed in blue on one face, and a scale in inches with 1/16 th inch graduations, Pupil Diameter Gauge, a series of semicircles labelled 3 mm to 10 mm in 1 mm steps, Bausch & Lomb Soflens Division Rochester NY 14602, SL 1283 5/76 printed on the opposite face.
Historical Significance: Equipment of this type was produced by contact lens manufacturers to assist in prescription of contact lenses and as promotional material.
