Description Of Item: White flannelette cloth 130 mm x 100 mm with pinked edge with the words Henry B. Horsfall and Associates, Optometrists, 138 Hare Street, Echuca, 149 Allan Street, Kyabram, printed in blue.
Historical Significance: Optical wholesalers supplied optometrists cleaning cloths with practitioner details to be given to patients with their new spectacles. the size was chosen to easily fit into the spectacle case.Henry (Hank) Horsfall qualified with L.O.Sc. (Licentiate of Optometric Science) from the A.C.O. in 1953 following training as an ex-serviceman (Navy). He set up practice in Echuca immediately afterwards. He married a local, Claire Trebilcock. As the practice grew, he set up a visiting practice at the rear of Trebilcock's Jewellery business in Kyabram. A number of newly graduated optometrists spent their early years gaining experience under Hank's watchful eye.
