Description Of Item: Brown pebble-grain leather wallet style spectacle case, 150 x 70 mm, with a tongue on the wallet flap and loop on the main body to secure closure of the case. Gold stamped 'A. JACKSON / CERTIFIED OPTICIAN / 974 WHITEHORSE ROAD / BOX HILL E 11'
Historical Significance: Arthur Jackson was registered in 1936 under the then new Opticians Registration Act of 1935 as practising at 571 High Street Northcote. He held no formal qualifications and was registered on the grounds of prior experience under Section 8.
