Description Of Item: 79th Annual Report 1974 of the Association for the Blind. Booklet, illustrated paper wrappers, 180 x 240 mm, 20 pages plus a 6 page two-fold slip-in for the Association's Guiding Light Appeal 1974, numerous black and white illustrations.
Historical Significance: The booklet includes a full page photograph of Ian Bailey, the foundation optometrist at the Association's low vision clinic, which was established in 1972 as a co-operative venture of the Association for the Blind, the Victorian (now Australian) College of Optometry and the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Melbourne. The following page gives and account of the low vision clinic and the number of patients seen in 1974, with another photograph.
