It was founded in 1899 in Sydney by Sir Arthur Cocks (1862-1943), a prominent NSW politician and mayor of Sydney in 1913. He was active in the early formation of an optometry organization in NSW in 1904. The compnay ceased trading in the 1980s. How Acquired: Donated by Donald MacRaild.
