The Museum was established in 1986 at the instigation of Signor Vittorio Tabacchi, the president of the Safilo Group, makers of spectacle frames. It's in a remote but beautiful village in the Dolomites,Italy, and is worth seeking out as one of the most extensive displays of its type in the world with over a thousand items to view. It includes not only antique spectacles but also many interesting modern examples, some formerly worn by Hollywood stars.
