Janet Goodrich (1942-1999) grew up in Michigan USA and was myopic with astigmatism and wore glasses for 20 years after the age of 7. She attended the University of Michigan studying languages, philosophy and psychology. She spent a year in Berlin Germany on a Fulbright scholarship and afterwards was a high school teacher for a time. She turned to Reichian therapy and became acquainted with the Bates method of sight without glasses and set up a holistic health centre in Los Angeles where she provided natural vision improvement, chiropractic and nutritional counselling. She holds a PhD in psychology. She did a lecture tour in Australia in 1980 and became a resident. She set up the Instructor Training Centre for Natural Vision Improvement near Brisbane Queensland in 1990. She wrote other books on the same subject See Cat no. 3290. Her daughter Carina Goodrich has continued with her mother's Natural Vision Improvement work and has published her own book The Practical Guide to Natural Vision Improvement 2010.
