Description Of Item: Clear glass eye bath of pedestal form, oval shaped cup with ridged vertical divisions and two rings. Short eight facetted stem above round foot. Under base moulded '44/ 20/ U.S.A.' and a letter 'A' in a circle. 55mm H x 40mmW.
Historical Significance: The letter A in a circle was a trademark of the Armstrong Cork Company of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It was probably not used on glassware until 1938 when Armstrong bought The Whitall Tatum Glass Company in Milville, New Jersey.
