Description Of Item: Round gold (or pinchbeck) quizzer, 37 x 78 mm, with machine engraved rim attached to a turned ornamental stem which has a small engraved swivelling loop at its end for a cord or ribbon. The lens is glass of power +7.50 D sph.
Historical Significance: The power of the lens, +7.50 D, suggests this might be a magnifying lens for near work rather than a quizzer for distance vision.
