Description Of Item: Modern rebind in period style, artificial half-leather and marbled boards, 245 x 165 mm, with title, author and date in gold on spine, 488 pages, 158 illustrations throughout text mostly black and white but quite a number in colour. A red ribbon locates on page 261 where the 2nd paragraph where Fick proposes use of a contact glass for treatment of conical cornea. A post-it sticker on the front fly leaf has a note by Nathan Efron pointing out the significance of this book as the first mention of contact lenses in a text book and that Eugen Fick was the inventor of contact lenses.
