An abstracted eye outlined in blue-green with a ruby jewel for the pupil is at the centre of the shield around the perimeter of which are the words AMERICAN ACADEMY OF OPTOMETRY. The motto reads 40 YEARS FELLOW. The back has a lapel pin with squeeze and slide off keeper. Historical Significance: The pin was given the Professor Barry Cole following the 2016 Academy meeting in recognition of his 49 years as a Fellow of the Academy How Acquired: Donated by Barry Cole, honorary life member of the College Date Acquired: Dec. 2016 Condition: Mint Location: Archive room.
