Historical Significance: Gaspari & Co was founded in the 1920s by Joseph Gaspari (1890-1964) of New York. An internet search shows that he and his company took out numerous patents for the design of spectacle frame in the 1920s to the 1940s. This catalogue illustrates spectacle frame styles in the late 1930s and includes Oxford and rimless pince-nez, Zylonite round-eye frames with hockey sides, rimless and semi-rimless mountings and lorgnettes. This catalogue is an excellent illustration of spectacle frame styles in the 1930s/
