Historical Significance: This was a rule commonly used by Melbourne optometrists in the second half of the 20th C for measuring inter-pupillary distance. It may have been made by W&G Record Processing Co a Melbourne company that engraved slide rules (See Slide Rule Museum http://sliderulemuseum.com/Australia.htm).
