Description Of Item: Gold frame, 110 x 35 mm, pantoscopic eye shape, 'tortoise shell' rim covers, gold bridge with nose pads, and curl sides part covered with 'tortoise shell', unglazed. There are markings on the inside of the shell covering of the sides and behind the bridge which appear to be 'WO/C' for the Wheway Optical Company Ltd.
Historical Significance: This is a mint example of a very popular style of spectacle frame from the 1930s to the 1950s.
